Team Aspire are assembling to raise funds for the charity Young Minds and have been busy getting fit in preparation.

Approximately 35 members of staff are taking up the challange by running, cycling or walking a cumulative 500 miles during the first week of the Easter holidays in the hope of raising £2,000 for the charity. Each member of the team have downloaded the Strava app to their device which will record how far they travel while doing their chosen exercise, so not only are those taking part hoping to get a little bit fitter, but to also help raise some much-needed funds.

In addition, for ‘Virtual Schools Alive’ this year, Aspire pupils are performing the song ‘Hold on my friends’ written by Blackpool singer/songwriter, Jimmy Love. The song reflects on the hard times we are all experiencing at the moment and Jimmy is excited that our school will perform it (virtually) for one of the biggest Blackpool Music Service events of the year. The track is being recorded professionally and the performance will be linked to the fundraising. You can watch Jimmy's version of the song by clicking here or on his image to the right.

Over £200 has already been raised towards Team Aspire's target, so if you would like to donate to this worthy cause visit the JustGiving webpage at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/teamaspire500
