A group of Year 9 Aspire students recently attended BAE Systems’ Military Air facility at Warton, giving them a unique opportunity to explore and learn how international organisations operate, in order to broaden their commercial understanding.

Focused talks on engineering, law and aircrew equipment were accompanied by visits around the facilities and opportunities to take part in some flight simulation activities.

Sam Beckett commented, “The activities we completed were really fun, and we had the opportunity to work as a team", while Reece Cooper said, “I really enjoyed hearing from people who worked on the aircrafts and learning about how it all worked.”

Mrs Barnhurst, Teacher of Mathematics and Careers Coordination, who organised the visit, added, “These workplace visits are not only a fascinating insight to British industry, but also encourage our students to start thinking about their own future after Aspire.”
