Aspire Academy's Christmas Concert took place on Thursday 15th December. The theme was Christmas Music from film and tv. The choir sung songs such as 'Marshmallow World', 'Someday at Christmas', 'Frosty the Snowman' and 'Please Come Home for Christmas'. They also performed 'A Christmas Miracle', written by staff and students at Blackpool Sixth Form to raise money from music download sites for the Children's' Society. The Btec Music group sang 'That's Christmas to me' and the staff choir sung a rendition of 'White Christmas'. There were also readings, instrumental performances and Christmas Carols accompanied by Neill Oldham on the piano.

Organiser, Sarah Mackay, subject lead of Music and Drama, said, "The evening had everyone in a Christmas mood and the performances were outstanding. Everyone enjoyed the concert and the audience were singing and clapping along with the music. The choir also performed exceptionally well at the Blackpool Music Service Christmas Concert at the Winter Gardens on Tuesday 13th December. They have been working hard on the songs since the beginning of October! All were given a sweet treat at the end and were awarded with 30 achievement points for an excellent contribution to school life. The choir are such an asset to the school and I am so proud of them all."
