Dear parent/carer,

Firstly, may I take this opportunity to welcome you and your child back to Blackpool Aspire Academy following the summer break. We begin the school year at 8:35am on Wednesday 31st August, 2022.
Students should attend in their full school uniform as there is no PE lessons on this first day back.

Uniform is currently a hot topic across the country and we understand as a school that the cost of living is increasing. We do have high expectations of uniform at Blackpool Aspire Academy and have tried to reduce the number of compulsory items in a bid to support families.

Alongside this, if you have any pieces of quality uniform which are not used by your children anymore (for example, Aspire Blazers which they may have grown out of), could we please make a plea for these to be donated to the school to help support others in our community. This of course would be greatly appreciated.

All students at Blackpool Aspire Academy are expected to have the following as part of their uniform:

  • Blackpool Aspire Blazer
  • Blackpool Aspire Tie
  • Blackpool Aspire Check Skirt (if appropriate)
  • Plain white shirt
  • Plain black trousers (if appropriate)
  • Blackpool Aspire PE Shirt
  • Blackpool Aspire PE shorts
  • Black tracksuit bottoms (these are not Aspire branded)
  • Black Aspire Leggings (Plain black leggings are also acceptable - NOT cycling shorts)
  • Blackpool Aspire black PE socks.
  • Our students are also expected to have a pencil case and bag to keep their belongings in.

The following pieces of uniform are optional; however, they may come in use during the coming months:

  • Blackpool Aspire PE Fleece
  • Blackpool Aspire jumper
  • Blackpool Aspire Summer polo shirt

We would also like to make you aware that extreme haircuts, unnaturally dyed hair, hair extensions and false nails/acrylics are also not permitted within the school. Jewellery is also restricted to one pair of gold/silver studs. Make up must also be minimal and natural with no fake eyelashes.

Our uniform aims to instil the following objectives and beliefs within the school:

  • promotes a sense of pride in our school
  • helps to create a sense of community and belonging towards the school
  • identifies the children with the school
  • supports our commitment to inclusion
  • is practical, smart and designed with health and safety in mind
  • is considered good value for money by most parents

If you have any concerns, please contact the school where we will be happy to discuss these with you.

Yours sincerely

Mr. J Woods Headteacher
