On Wednesday, June 17th, fourteen of our Year 9 students took an exciting step into their futures by attending the Northern Reach Workplace Encounter at The Robinson Business Hub in Blackpool.
The event was specifically designed for students who have chosen Digital Technology as one of their option subjects starting this September, giving them an early taste of the fast-paced tech industry.
During the immersive experience, students were split into teams and tasked with developing and pitching a unique tech concept. They had the incredible opportunity to present their ideas directly to the "CEO for the day," Jason Yeoman, the Chief Executive Officer of DMF.
Following their pitches, Jason stepped into a mentoring role, working closely with each group to:
- Refine and improve their initial digital concepts.
- Sharpen their presentation skills and confidence.
- Provide crucial insights into what a real-world career in the digital sector looks like.
Congratulations to all the students involved for representing the school so brilliantly. We can't wait to see how you apply these new skills in the classroom next term.
