On Monday, 15th June, thirty of our Year 7 students traded the classroom for the campus with an exciting visit to Liverpool Hope University. The trip was designed to give students an early insight into higher education, demystify life at university and spark inspiration for their future academic journeys.
During the action-packed day, students participated in a variety of activities aimed at broadening their horizons:
-
Interactive workshops: students took part in sessions exploring the wide array of courses available at university, from creative arts to forensic science, helping them link their current school subjects to future career paths.
-
Campus tour: led by current university undergraduates, our Year 7s explored the impressive lecture theatres, high-tech libraries and vibrant student union areas.
-
Q&A session: students had the brilliant opportunity to quiz real university students about what campus life is actually like, asking great questions about everything from exams to living away from home.
The day was a fantastic success, with our students demonstrating excellent behavior, curiosity and enthusiasm throughout. It’s never too early to start thinking about the future and many returned to school with big ambitions and a newfound excitement for what lies ahead after high school.
"The campus was huge and everyone was so welcoming! It made me really excited about what I can study when I'm older" said one Year 7 Student.
A huge thank you to the staff at Liverpool Hope University for hosting us, and to our students for representing the school so brilliantly!
