Team Aspire were busy over the Easter holidays raising money for the Young Minds charity by running, cycling and walking a cumulative 500 miles. Each member of the team downloaded the Strava app to their device which recorded how far they had travelled while doing their chosen exercise.
When the week was finished they had managed to clock up almost 1,000 miles and over £1,000 in donations, a fantastic achievement. You can still donate by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/teamaspire500
Team Aspire’s achievement even made it into The Blackpool Gazette; to read the article please click the picture below:
In addition, for Virtual Schools Alive this year, Aspire pupils are performing the song ‘Hold on my friends’ written by Blackpool singer/songwriter, Jimmy Love. The song reflects on the hard times we are all experiencing at the moment and Jimmy is excited that our school will perform it (virtually) for one of the biggest Blackpool Music Service events of the year. The track is being recorded professionally and the performance will be linked to the fundraising. You can watch Jimmy's version of the song by clicking here.
