Easy Shrimp Curry

15 July 2020

Year 10 Malick, pictured above, has been supporting his mum during lockdown by helping as much as he can around the house and often cooks for her using some recipes from his homeland.

The budding chef loves to cook and his favourite is his Easy Shrimp Curry and he has kindly shared this with us below.

Mrs Gregory said, "I can't wait for when all of the restrictions are lifted as Malick has promised to make me some and bring it into school!"

Malick says he prefers shrimps, but because this is such an easy meal to make it can easily be adapted to any meat or even just vegatables.

Easy Shrimp Curry

Mustard - one teaspoon

1 onion - finely chopped

Black pepper - to taste

Shrimps - 150g

Curry mix - 1 packet from any supermarket or mix your own using the following spices:

  • coriander
  • cumin
  • turmeric
  • black pepper
  • chili powder
  • ginger

1. Mix all of the above ingredients in a bowl.

2. On a high setting heat a pan and then add the ingredients, then keep stirring.

3. Lower the heat setting to medium/hot and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Serve and enjoy!
