Dear Parent/Carer,

As you are aware, the school will be opening for Year 7 students only on Friday 7th January 2022. Year 7’s will have their tests and once the results have been confirmed they will go into lessons. On this day, the government guidance requires us to test the students upon entry to the building. This process needs to be completed just once at this moment in time. Should you not wish for your child to be tested, please complete the following form https://forms.gle/yYeysKgtt4LJLzWo8 or contact the academy on 01253 353155.

If we do not hear from you, we assume you consent to the testing procedure.

Once the students in each class have been tested they will wait on the tennis courts until all results for that class have been established. If students are negative they will go directly, with their form tutor to the school building. Any students that test positive will be isolated and sent home with a PCR home testing kit in order to confirm the result. If the PCR test is positive the student will isolate for 10 days in line with Government guidance. At this point there should be no contacts as the student will have been supervised exclusively in an outdoor environment.

Testing will commence at the following times for each form:

7T: 8.40am – 9.10am

7O: 9.10am - 9.40am

7A: 9.40am – 10.10am

7S: 10.10am – 10.40am

7P: 10.40am – 11.10am

7I: 11.10am – 11.40am

7R: 11.40am – 12.10pm

Please ensure that your child arrives at the Sports Hall just before the allocated time for their form.

The entrance to the Sports Hall is on Garstang Road West. The postcode is FY3 7JH.

Students not expected to be in school during the testing will need to access remote learning on Google Classroom with teachers running remote lessons.

We hope you have a restful Christmas and we are really looking forward to coming back in January.

Yours sincerely,

Mr J Woods
Headteacher
