A selection of our Year 10 students have been invited to take part in the Peace and Conflict conferences, run by Blackpool Sixth, which are a programme of activities for highly able students from Fylde Coast secondary schools, involving international current affairs/geo-politics, super-curricular learning, the development of public speaking and debating skills.
It is a chance for our students to explore engaging academic material from a range of disciplines and develop crucial college-level study skills. One of the sessions will see a talk delivered by a guest speaker who is a veteran of UK campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, while the final one will be a debating competition held at Blackpool Town Hall to be judged by the mayor and deputy mayor.
