On Monday 27th March, Year 9 students were invited to take part in a Maths in the Real World challenge day at the University of Manchester, in the new Alan Turing building. The workshops were organised by the ASMP, the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme.
They involved advanced mathematics challenges our students relished, a maths lecture and a networking session with alumni maths professionals.
The day introduced an insight into the world of maths, how maths can be found in everyday situations. It also helped students discover higher education and its possibilities.
