Year 7 AJ has been working on tone, form and shading in his art classes recently and expanded on it in his own time, developing his skills beyond the classroom and homework to produce some truly stunning pieces of artwork.

Recently Mrs Riley has been working with the class on drawing spherical objects and in particular how light falls on them and how it affects the tone of that object and its environment, then transferring this onto paper using shading to create depth and contrast in the students’ artwork.

AJ was at home helping burn wood in the garden with his father when he found himself fascinated with the shadows created by the dancing flames and how they affected the light and dark of the surrounding objects.
