Unit 3 and 1

Introduction to the course

Begin to study Unit 3: scripted play.

Continue studying scripted play. Research and Rehearsal. Characterisation.

Performance of 'Blood Brothers'.

Begin to study Unit 1 – Individual Showcase. First monologue to be completed before the summer, second to be learnt over the summer holdiays.

YEAR 10

Unit 1 and 2

Unit 1: Monologue 1 – research, rehearsal & characterisation.

Complete Monologue 2.

Application form writing.

Catch up on any work that must be re-recorded.

start Unit 2: show planning.

Catch up on any performances not completed.

Continue to work on Unit 2 show.

YEAR 11

Unit 2

Research and Rehearsal for Unit 2 performance. Unit 2 performance. Evaluative written work to be completed.

What qualification will I get?

Edexcel NQF Btec Level 1/2 First Award in Performing Arts (Acting).

How will I be assessed?

BTEC Arting: 2 units internally moderated, 1 unit externally moderated.

 

What can this course lead to?

Btec Level 3 is the next step after the Btec course.

Students may also consider AS/A Level Drama / Theatre Studies.

Career choices include: Professional Performer, Journalism, Social Work, Lawyer, Barrister, Teacher, Police, Counsellor, and Politician.
